Dr. Shapiro received her M.D. with Recognition in Humanistic Studies from the State University of New York (SUNY) – Stony Brook School of Medicine, where she also completed her internship in Internal Medicine. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident.
Her clinical interests include the rehabilitation of medically complex and older patients and the prevention of disability.
