PHYSICIANS
Russell L. Margolis, M.D., Professor of Psychiatry, Director of the Johns Hopkins Schizophrenia Program. Dr. Margolis joined the Hopkins faculty in 1992. In addition to a long-standing interest in schizophrenia, his clinical expertise includes affective disorders, geriatric psychiatry, and neuropsychiatry. His research focuses on the genetic risk factors for schizophrenia and the genetics and pathogenesis of other neuropsychiatric disorders.
Nicola Cascella, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Clinical Director and Director of Clinical Research, Johns Hopkins Schizophrenia Program.
Sarah Reading, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. Dr. Reading has been a faculty member of the Department of Psychiatry, and an attending physician in the schizophrenia program, since 2000. Irving Reti, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. Dr Reti joined the Hopkins Psychiatry faculty in 2001 and has been an attending physician on the Schizophrenia Service since then. His research interest is behavioral neuroscience, with a major focus on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying drug addiction, the major co-morbid condition afflicting patients with schizophrenia.
Thomas Sedlak, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. Dr. Sedlak, a new addition to the Johns Hopkins faculty, has recently completed a fellowship with Dr. Solomon Snyder of the Johns Hopkins Department of Neuroscience. Dr. Sedlak’s research interest is in exploring novel pathways that lead to the injury and death of neurons, and potential mechanisms to block this pathogenesis.
PSYCHOLOGIST
David Schretlen, Ph.D., ABPP, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Director of Neuropsychology, Johns Hopkins Schizophrenia Program. Dr. Schretlen joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in 1988, and he has held a joint appointment in the Department of Radiology since 2003. His clinical expertise is in the cognitive aspects of schizophrenia. His research focuses on the relationship between individual differences in brain anatomy and the neuropsychological consequences of schizophrenia and other conditions.
