Arranging for Treatment

The best way to arrange for services for a family member (or yourself) is to have the family member's psychiatrist, therapist or another physician who knows the person well, contact one of the following numbers.

Inpatient and partial hospitalization program
   410-955-5104

Outpatient consultation clinic
   410-955-0424

Research projects and general questions
   410-502-5887

Most physicians and therapists greatly appreciate second opinions, and will not be offended by your request for an evaluation at Johns Hopkins. If a psychiatrist, another physician, or a therapist is not available, you can also arrange for services yourself by calling one of the numbers listed above.

Information that will help us assist you

  • The question or concern that led you to contact our program
  • The diagnosis, if any
  • The name, phone and fax numbers, and address of the treating
         psychiatrist or therapist
  • The age, contact information, living situation, current medicines,
and major medical problems of the patient.

Do not be concerned if you do not have all of this information.

For Clinicians:  Our goal to you is to provide rapid, comprehensive information. Patients will be referred back to you. You can help us to help you and your patient by providing a typed summary of the course and treatment of your patient’s illness.
