Patient care is at the heart of the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. In this section of the website, our goal is to help you find the most appropriate setting and type of care for you, a relative, or a friend. If you are beginning your search for information here, you can review our clinical services by type of service or by type of disorder, you can learn more about a particular psychiatrist or researcher, you can find books written by our faculty, and you can check which research projects are currently recruiting volunteers.

Our department is located at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Links to driving directions are provided below.

CLINICAL SERVICES
All of our patient treatment services can be reached from this page. They are grouped in two ways:

  1. by the type of service: hospital admission, day hospital programs (partial hospitalization), and outpatient and consultation clinics.
  2. by the name of the speciality: these may be age groups such as those for children and adolescents or geriatric patients, or they may be particular psychiatric diagnoses such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance-use disorder, or Alzhiemer's disease.

Contact and location information is provided with each clinical service description.

PSYCHIATRIC ADMISSIONS
