Professional Interests

Dr. Black's professional interests focus on the mental health of older adults and their use of health and mental health care services.  In this area, her research has examined need and unmet need for mental health care, health services utilization, quality of life and end-of-life care in dementia. Dr. Black's interests also include research ethics, particularly related to recruitment and enrollment of people with cognitive impairments and methods for securing informed consent from these individuals and/or their surrogates.
