THE JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL NAMED CONSUMER CHOICE WINNER FOR 10TH STRAIGHT YEAR
For the tenth straight year, The Johns Hopkins Hospital has received the Consumer Choice Award for the Baltimore region from the National Research Corporation (NRC). Hopkins also was co-winner with Shady Grove Adventist in Bethesda and Washington County in Hagerstown. Hopkins was one of only a few hospitals nationwide to earn top choice status in a multi-market region, according to NRC, a firm specializing in health care performance measurement.
Each year, NRC honors those hospitals whose consumers rate as having the best quality and image, based on the NRC’s survey of more than 200,000 households in 80 markets in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
"We are gratified that our patients continue to rate our quality so high," said Edward D. Miller, M.D., CEO and Dean of Johns Hopkins Medicine. "After all, informed health care consumers are the final arbiters of a hospital’s quality and reputation."
"’High-quality’ is not just a slogan at Hopkins," said Ronald R. Peterson, president of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System. "It’s the direct result of a team that is dedicated to excellence in all aspects of health care.
