AMERICAN ALLIANCE OF HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS NAMES HOPKINS HOSPITAL OF CHOICE
The Johns Hopkins Hospital has again received the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers (AAHP) American Hospital of Choice Award. The award reflects excellence in four areas of a patients experience with the hospital: security, comfort, convenience, and caring afforded to patients. Hopkins has been selected each year as a Hospital of Choice since the inception of the award in 2002.
Awards are determined by one of three methods: inclusion in the top 50 hospitals ranked by U.S. News & World Reports annual best hospital guide; AAHPs annual nursing poll; or an AAHP staff review of the Hospital of Choice Awards application submitted by individual hospitals.
According to the AAHP, its American Hospital of Choice Award is designed to recognize hospitals that have a proven track record in successfully meeting or exceeding the expectations of their patients and have earned the respect and admiration of the physicians who refer their clients.
Hopkins, along with four other regional hospitals, was selected to win this years award. The other hospitals selected were The Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C., and Inova Alexandria Hospital and Reston Hospital in Virginia.
