Young Named Senior Vice President at Howard County General Hospital
Columbia, MD – James E. Young has been named Senior Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer at Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, effective January 5, 2004.
Young joined the Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation (JHHS) in 1994 as the Director of Tax Compliance. In this role, Young created a tax department that addressed all tax related issues and prepared all federal, state and local tax returns for all of the JHHS entities
In 1998, Young was asked to create a corporate compliance program for JHHS and its affiliates. Since that time, Young has been developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance program that focuses on Medicare and Medicaid billing and other regulatory matters such as physician licensure and credentialing, pension and retirement plan compliance, and FDA and CDC survey activity. In carrying out his JHHS responsibilities, Young was the Chief Compliance Officer for the various Health System entities including Howard County General Hospital.
Prior to joining JHHS, Young spent seven years in the Chicago, IL and Louisville, KY offices of Arthur Anderson.
Young and his wife Julie have two daughters, Bailey and Ali, and reside in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Howard County General Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine since 1998, is a 182-bed, not-for-profit, health care provider located in Columbia, Maryland.
