JHU NIDDK Gene Profiling Center
HOME

Welcome to the home page of the Johns Hopkins University NIDDK Gene Profiling Center.

We are one of several NIDDK Biotechnologies Consortium centers funded by The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases with the expressed goal of providing associated researchers cost-effective access to cutting edge genomic technologies.

In line with the mission of the Consortium, the goals of our facility are as follows:

1) To serve as a technology resource and transfer center for microarray and other emergent gene profiling technologies.

2) To serve as a training center for scientists who desire a more direct involvement in genomic analysis.

3) To improve and extend the state of the art in genomic methodologies.

The Gene Profiling Center is currently equipped for processing glass slide DNA microarrays.   Real-time quantitative PCR technology is available for validating gene expression data generated by your microarray analysis.

Bioinformatics support is available to users of the Gene Profiling Center through our GeneTraffic microarray database and a collaboration with members of the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Core here at Johns Hopkins.   We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this benefit when planning or interpreting your microarray experiments.

We thank you for your interest in the Gene Profiling Center.  The navigation bar on the left will direct you to the pertinent information regarding the facility.
