John Anderson, M.D.John Anderson, M.D.

Dr. John Anderson is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He did his residency training in intemal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and completed a nephrology fellowship at the University Kentucky Albert Chandler Medical Center

He is presently Chief of Nephrology at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore MD, and co-founder with Dr. Gary Briefel of the Daily Home Hemodialysis Program at Johns Hopkins.

He is active in the National Kidney Foundation Maryland where he is director of the Professional Educational Program

His clinical and patient care focus is home dialysis including daily hemodialysis, and home peritoneal dialysis.   

Research interests:           

  • Physical function and activity of hemodialysis patients         
  • Risk factors for mortality in chronic kidney disease
  • End of life issues in dialysis patients
