Nicole Quinn, BS
Senior Laboratory Technician
Ms. Quinn has been on our laboratory staff for over seven years and is experienced in all STD molecular assays. She has served as the lead technician in several clinical validation trials of amplified diagnostic platforms for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. She performs laboratory assays, assists with receipt of clinical specimens for laboratory testing, retrieves frozen samples for testing procedures, and transports assays to various POCT locations such as outpatient clinic and emergency department clinics when needed. She assists with data entry of laboratory results.
Jeffrey Holden, MA, BS
Senior Laboratory Specialist
During his nine years at Johns Hopkins, Mr. Holden has worked with many of our regional and international public health investigations performing various molecular, serological, and cell culture procedures including DNA isolation, real-time PCR, micro-immunofluorescence, and PCR-mass spectrometry. He has served as lead technician in several FDA clinical validadtion trials of amplified diagnostic platforms for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. He performs laboratory assays, receives clinical samples for laboratory testing, and approves laboratory results and oversees data entry of laboratory results.
Perry Barnes
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Mr. Barnes has worked part-time with our laboratory group for four years. He performs various tasks such as data entry, making kits for sample collection, delivering supplies, working with clinical trial paperwork, and assisting with laboratory duties.
