Wei (Tiffany) Huang, MS

PhD Student

Ms. Huang enrolled in the doctoral program of Clinical and Population Health Research (CPHR) at University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2009.  Under the mentorship of Dr. Diane Blake, Ms. Huang will work on a comparative effectiveness research model for clinic-based point-of-care (POC) chlamydia tests versus standard chlamydia tests, and for Internet-based POC and standard tests versus clinic-based POC and standard tests.

In addition to her role as a professional track PhD student, Ms. Huang currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Center for Outcomes Research (COR) at University of Massachusetts Medical School.  She has been involved in every aspect of research project design and management, including NIH grant proposal development.  She has been a co-author on one book chapter, eighteen abstracts/presentations, and fifteen manuscripts published in peer review journals, including JAMA and Lancet.  Her primary interest is in narrowing the gap between clinical trial evidence and real-world medical practice to improve health outcomes for a wide variety of diseases.  In addition, with a MS in computer science, she is interested in applying information technology to improve patient care.
