Our program places a premium on academic pursuit. Each junior resident has an 8-week block designed to provide unique opportunities to actively engage in research projects with accomplished physician-scientists throughout the Department of Medicine. Our goal is to introduce research and scholarly activities to housestaff, both to answer thought-provoking questions and to develop mentor-mentee relationships critical to their future in academic medicine. This goal is accomplished through development of an online research curriculum, ineraction with enthusiastic faculty from each division, and one-on-one guidance from program leaders. In addition, we welcome and support opportunities to present research at local and national meetings, including our own Department of Medicine Grand Rounds. We look forward to working with each resident to maixmize their research experiences.
