JH Research Equipment and Data Handling
Needs and Interests
A short survey.

AIM: to gain an understanding of research equipment and data handling needs and interests (especially for preclinical research involving genetically engineered and other non-human subjects) at Johns Hopkins.  Coordinated through the phenotyping core, results will be summarized and presented to administration (per dean's request), and will be sent to all submitters who provide contact information.

RATIONALE: Diverse data generated by multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary research need to be assimilated, coordinated, and need to be secure, as well as accessible to collaborators.

JH can and should leverage research resources, data handling and web presence as a global translational research resource, to facilitate and attract collaboration and support.

Help to identify and justify obtaining or applying for equipment that can be useful to diverse research areas.
e.g.
 noninvasive electrocardiography on unrestrained awake mice;
Digital histopathology (virtual microscopy) that permits examination on multiple computer screens for remote evaluation, consulting or teaching, with annotation, archiving and morphometry capabilities; or provide suggestions via the survey below (or email to phenocore@jhmi.edu.

Patient data management systems, (human) clinical trials data management, toxicology data management systems, phenome and genetic data systems, share features that are relevant to preclinical translational research needs.  Some links are provided below the form.
