Research Interests:
Dr. Parmigiani ia s PhD biostatistician. He is interested in developing statistical and computational methodologies for biomedical data, with focus on medical decision-making, cancer genetics, and genomics.
Examples of his projects are BRCAPRO, a model and software for genetic counseling of families at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and a
computational approach for molecular classification of cancer using gene
expression profiles. He recently published a book on Modeling in Medical decision making and an edited volume on Microarray data Analysis.
Teaching
Activities: In recent years he has taught "Statistical decision theory with biomedical application", "Statistics for gene expression" and contributed to "Special topics in statistical genetics and genomics". He advises graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, mainly in the areas of bioinformatics and statistical computing.
