Welcome to the JHU-UMD Diabetes Research Center

Investigators from University of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University have joined together to create the JHU-UMD Diabetes Research Center (DRC). The Center fosters collaborative, multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrinology research, and translates that research into programs to train health care professionals in the diagnosis and management of diabetes.

The JHU-UMD Diabetes Research Center strives to understand the causes of both type 1 and 2 diabetes and promote translational research that is aimed at reducing the burden of these diseases in the U.S. This center has a unique focus on childhood diabetes and diabetes that affects minority populations.
