Bayesian communication is the application of the Bayesian paradigm to the process of an author/investigator publishing data to readers who evaluate the data in the context of their prior belief and knowledge and who take action on the basis of that evaluation. (See article by Lehmann and Goodman. Diamond and Kaul discuss this as well.)

Read about the philosophy of this idea and of this project. Statistical Models gives details about one Bayesian statistical model (the Bayesian equivalent of the z test for proportions.).

This site presents three tools.

  • From Tutorial, you can login and use a site that takes you through the whole process.
  • From Datasets, you can see a java-based applet applied to any one of 20 papers.
  • From Calculator, you can use a java-based applet with data you provide.

Basic terminology is presented in the Glossary.
